Iran exports goods worth $2.217 billion to India

India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry released a report stating that the country’s trade exchange with Iran totalled more than US$200 million in January

In 2023, India-Iran trade performance increased by two per cent over the previous year, with total trade amounting to US$2.217 billion.

Notably, Iran’s trade balance with India turned positive last year, with imports from India reaching US$1.916 billion. This is reported by
Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry confirmed the figures, reporting that the trade exchange between the two countries in January was more than US$200 million, a three per cent increase over the same period in 2022.

According to reports, the main commodities imported from Iran in 2023 are petroleum products worth US$221 million. On the other hand, the main commodity exported by Iran to India was rice it was worth US$723 million in 2023.

While tea exports from India to Iran fell by nearly a third, fruit exports rose 14 per cent to US$55 million.
