CIS sectoral co-operation bodies continue to interact with BRICS, SCO and EAEU
Commonwealth states intend to jointly implement targeted programmes
In 2024, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) sectoral co-operation bodies will continue interaction with such international structures as BRICS, SCO and EAEU, the CIS Executive Committee said in its
report.
“The bodies of sectoral cooperation, guided by the interests of increasing the authority of the CIS in the international arena, should continue work on the implementation of interstate target programmes and plans of joint activities of the Commonwealth countries with international organisations, primarily the UN system, as well as the EAEU, SCO and BRICS,” the document says.
The report mentions that at the meeting of the Interstate Council for Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities of the CIS an Agreement joining the International MICE Industry Consortium (the field of business tourism related to corporate events) was concluded between the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs and the Republican Unitary Enterprise “National Exhibition Centre “BelExpo” of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus of the Presidential Property Management Directorate of the Republic of Belarus.
The main objective is to strengthen international relations in the MICE sphere, as well as to develop and support congress and exhibition activities and the events industry in the member states. The consortium is designed to help strengthen and promote economic, trade, business and investment relations through business events in the BRICS, SCO, CIS and other countries.
