Egyptian dignitaries discuss investment plan strategies for the 2024/2025 fiscal year
Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Said, held a meeting with Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ayman Ashour, to discuss the strategic investment plan for the 2024/2025 fiscal year.
During the meeting, El-Said emphasised the importance of prioritising human development, health and education for the government. She affirmed that despite budget constraints, higher education will continue to receive a high level of funding, as it plays a key role in the development of human capital, society and economic competitiveness.
The minister also pointed out the strategic importance of education in national development programmes, especially on strengthening the educational base, improving the quality and competitiveness of products to build a sustainable Egyptian society. This is reported by

The plan for the next fiscal year aims to encourage private investment in new private universities, improve quality control of existing educational institutions, and expand technological universities across the country through public-private cooperation.
Ashour presented an overview of the ministry’s national projects, highlighting their status and alignment with the state’s strategic needs, emphasising the role of higher education as a foundation for sustainable development.
Research plans and ongoing projects were also discussed, including establishing the headquarters of the African Space Agency and finalising plans for research institutes.
The meeting also presented an overview of the projects implemented by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the previous fiscal year 2023/2024.
