Vladimir Putin characterises relations between Russia and China as stable

The head of state pointed to the fact that they have been developed over two decades

Relations between Russia and China are stable and complement each other, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference after the conclusion of the presidential election.

“Our relations have developed over two decades, they are very stable, the countries complement each other. I am sure this interaction will continue not least due to our personal friendly relations with the President of the People’s Republic of China”

Russia
held presidential elections on 15-17 March. The turnout in the country as a whole was a record 74,22 per cent. Four candidates competed for voters’ votes. According to the Russian Central Election Commission, incumbent head of state Vladimir Putin received 87,32 percent of the votes after processing 99,67 percent of the protocols, while Nikolay Kharitonov, a member of the Presidium of the CPRF Central Committee, received 4,3 percent. State Duma deputy speaker Vladislav Davankov, nominated by the New People party, got 3,82 per cent, while LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky got 3,2 per cent.
