The date of elections is set in Venezuela
It was announced by the National Electoral Council
During the regular session of parliament, deputy Jorge Rodriguez indicated that “the plenary council of the National Electoral Council read a statement approved unanimously, where the presidential election is set for 28 July 2024”. This is reported by
teleSUR, a partner of TV BRICS.
“As part of the General Agreement of Caracas, some decisions have been taken by the National Electoral Council that reinforce the electoral schedule and the electoral event in July 2024,” said Rodriguez.
The ruling party nominated the country’s incumbent head of state, Nicolas Maduro.
Holding presidential elections in the second half of 2024 is part of the Barbados Accords, which the Maduro government and the Venezuelan opposition signed last October. The document guaranteed all parties in the country the right to nominate their candidates for the presidential election.
