Timber industry cluster is created in the Russian region
A timber industry cluster has been created in one of Russia’s regions, the Republic of Mordovia, which includes six companies from five Russian regions. Along with the republic, these are the city of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Penza regions, reports
Mordovia 24, a partner of TV BRICS.
The publication notes that the interaction of companies is necessary to realise the full cycle of production: from logging and processing of timber to the erection and finishing of houses.
“The creation of the timber industry cluster contributes to the competitiveness of enterprises, investment attractiveness of the region, expansion of sales markets, localisation and modernisation of production facilities, cost reduction, as well as increasing the share of exports,” said Batyr Emeev, deputy chairman of the regional government. He noted that the timber industry of Mordovia has great potential.
The production site of the cluster is located in the town of Ardatov. There the participating companies will implement three investment projects for the production of import-substituting products. These are phenolic films, wood-polymer composite (WPC) and other types.
