India to set up 500 new charging points for electric vehicles

The country’s authorities are keen to create a reliable and extensive network of chargers in major cities

India’s largest power utility and state-run Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) signed a memorandum in New Delhi on Monday, December 11, to roll out over 500 electric vehicle (EV) charging points at the company’s petrol pumps across the country. This is reported by
IANS, a partner of TV BRICS

These EV charging points will be installed in major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Pune and Kochi and on major highways like the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Salem-Kochi Highway, Guntur-Chennai Highway.

The strategic collaboration is aimed at creating a robust and extensive network of chargers across the country. It will help make driving more convenient for electric vehicle owners travelling between cities, the statement added.
