The resumption of direct flights from South Africa to Brazil received high appreciation from Patricia de Lille
The local airline was praised by South African Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille for relaunching direct flights from Cape Town and Johannesburg to Sao Paulo, Brazil. This newly established route signifies the airline’s first intercontinental link between South America and Africa since resuming operations in September 2021. This is reported by
Pretoria News, a partner of TV BRICS.
“This is an important market for us, and the direct flights that will start operating in the coming days will bring huge benefits to both countries,” Patricia de Lille said.
Ticket sales opened on June 29, the first flight from Cape Town is expected on Tuesday, October 31, and from Johannesburg on Monday, November 6.
The Minister of Tourism expressed her satisfaction with the resumption of the route between the two BRICS countries after a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Brazil, Anna Carla Lopez.
Acting CEO of the airline John Lamola also said that he was very pleased that Sao Paulo became the first international destination after the airline’s successful exit from the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Lamola, the decision to resume long-distance communication was made after a full analysis of the safety and ability of the route.
