China resumes international cruise services
“Local transport administrations should also strengthen emergency response, epidemic prevention and control, promote cruise market management and quickly solve any problems that arise,” said the Transport Ministry.
The aim of these measures is to contribute to the stable development of the international transport market after the COVID-19 pandemic.
In China, domestic travel rose 56.3 per cent year-on-year to 4.32 million in the first half of this year.
Road passenger journeys totalled 2.14 million during the period, an increase of 18.6 per cent on last year.
In addition, the number of waterway trips increased to 120 million, or 146.8 per cent, compared to the same period in 2022.
On the other hand, the number of urban transport trips in China was 45.42 million, up 15 per cent from the previous year.
Earlier this year, the country lifted restrictive measures imposed during the pandemic, and this led to high internal mobility. International travel has also started to recover strongly.
