The Delhi Police has launched a website in 110 languages with instructions on how to ensure public safety during the upcoming G20 summit in India.

The resource provides key routes, maps, traffic patterns, police services and other information about New Delhi’s main area that will be relevant during the international event on 9 and 10 September.

In addition, a special section lists all the city’s landmarks, places of worship and popular markets that are most attractive to tourists and delegates of this major event.

For the convenience of the public, the police have also introduced a special number that will operate round the clock and other reference numbers for senior citizens, women, medical emergencies and for reporting missing persons and other emergencies.

Earlier, Delhi authorities said that all offices, banks and educational institutions will be closed on these days and many roads will be inaccessible to city residents.

Even metro stations and markets near the busiest places for the more than 1,000 delegates expected to attend the summit will not operate during this period.

More than 3,000 media representatives, including 1,800 foreigners, have reportedly already registered to cover the event, as reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

In addition, the improvement of the city has been completed: lanterns have been installed, the necessary images have been painted, and rubbish collection has been organised.
