G20 experts on digital economy to meet in India

The subject of discussion is the compliance of the world’s economies with the new digital format and cybersecurity requirements

The Group of Twenty (G20) Digital Economy Workshop kicked off in Bangalore, South India, with discussions on developing public infrastructure, developing skills and strengthening cybersecurity, as reported by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

Inaugurated by Alkesh Kumar Sharma, the Secretary of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the meeting focuses on data management expertise and service delivery.

A ministerial meeting of the sector will be held on 19 August, which should culminate in a joint declaration expressing the participants’ final position on the challenges and opportunities of the digital economy.

In parallel, the Digital Innovation Alliance Summit took place on 17 and 18 August to celebrate and support developers from G20 member and guest countries.

According to the organisers, the digital economy working group is vital to facilitate the transition to digitalisation to improve public participation and achieve inclusive social and economic growth.
