Indian Prime Minister: India to become one of the top three largest economies in the world in the coming years
Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the bastions of the Red Fort
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 August announced unprecedented growth in India’s exports and said that the country is now the world’s fifth largest economy thanks to the efforts of its 1.4 billion citizens, as reported by ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.
Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence Day, the Prime Minister said India will become the third largest economy in the next few years.
“India will be among the top three economies in the next few years. This is Modi’s guarantee,” said the Indian Prime Minister.
He said the government has taken several steps to fight corruption and curb inflation.
“Today, the impact of inflation is being felt by the entire world, including us. However, India has taken decisive steps to contain and manage inflation. When I came to power in 2014, our country was ranked tenth in the global economic system. Today, through the efforts of 1.4 billion Indians, we have reached the fifth place. It has not been easy. Our main objective remains to minimise inflation so that the citizens of this great country can lead a fulfilling life”
