Trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan exceeds US$10 billion in 2024
Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov has met with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Zhamshid Khodjaev to discuss key aspects of bilateral economic cooperation. This is reported by the official
website of the Russian Government.
According to preliminary data, trade turnover between Russia and Uzbekistan will grow by 5.2 per cent in 2024, reaching the mark of US$10 billion. Manturov noted the positive dynamics in both Russian exports and imports from Uzbekistan.
Over the past year, 39 visits of heads of Russian regions to Uzbekistan took place, which indicates a high interest in developing partnership relations. In addition, there is an increase in tourist flow: 515 thousand Russian tourists visited Uzbekistan in 2024.
Active cooperation is also noted in the sphere of education: 14 branches of Russian universities are functioning in Uzbekistan, which is a record among Central Asian countries.
