Iran claims 35 per cent increase in agricultural exports

This sector has become the second fastest growing one after the oil industry

Iran is showing strong growth in a number of economic sectors. Iran’s Minister of Agricultural announced a 35 per cent increase in agricultural exports. This sector has become the second fastest growing sector after the oil industry, contributing significantly to the country’s overall economic growth.

Mohammad Ali Dehqan Dehnavi, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade said that the country’s revenues from non-oil exports have reached US$48 billion in the current Iranian year (ending on March 20, 2025) showing a growth of 18 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Internationally, Iran is strengthening economic ties with Brazil, according to
Pars Today, a partner of TV BRICS. Earlier, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iran reached an agreement with Brazil’s Deputy Finance Minister on the use of national currencies in bilateral trade and expansion of banking cooperation between the two countries. At that time, both sides emphasised the existence of significant potential for the development of financial and trade cooperation, especially within the framework of BRICS mechanisms.
