Egypt to launch the country’s first ultrasound device factury
A significant development in the medical technology sector will result in Egypt’s first ultrasound device manufacturing facility. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar oversaw the signing of a cooperation protocol with a leading Chinese medical equipment manufacturer.
This landmark initiative underscores Egypt’s commitment to strengthening the domestic medical industry and attracting foreign investment. This is reported by
Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to Ministry’s spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the project is in line with Egypt’s national strategy to transfer medical technology and produce high-quality, locally manufactured medical devices at competitive prices, which will ultimately improve medical services across the country.
The first locally manufactured ultrasound device is set to launch in April, with an expected annual production of approximately 2,500 units. The project also includes comprehensive training programmes for Egyptian technicians and engineers, facilitating the transfer of critical technology and skills development.
