Chinese Foreign Minister emphasises importance of enhancing BRICS cooperation during Brazil’s presidency in 2025

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed a wide range of China-Brazil cooperation issues by phone with an adviser to the Brazilian President

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation with Special Adviser to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, Celso Amorim. During the conversation, the Chinese diplomat emphasised the need to promote progress among BRICS countries during Brazil’s presidency of the association in 2025. This is reported by
CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS.

Wang Yi highlighted Chinese President Xi Jinping’s successful state visit to Brazil last November, during which 37 agreements were signed between the two countries to boost bilateral cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, trade, technology and sustainable development.

For his part, Amorim expressed hope that the two sides will prioritise the implementation of the results of the Chinese leader’s visit and work together to build a Brazil-China community, strengthening bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperation.
