An official at Iranian Ministry of Agriculture and Jihad (MAJ) Reza Fotouhi, said that Iran has set a target to expand its overseas farming to 2 million hectares by 2029.
This goal is specified in the five-year plan, which will end in 1407 Iranian calendar year (end of March 2029). This is reported by

Reza Fotouhi added that according to the food security document, Iran will need to rely on importing 10 million metric tonnes of food by 2031. The country currently uses approximately 228,000 hectares of land abroad for agriculture.
The official added that lands used for corn farming in Brazil by Iranian companies had reached 50,000 hectares, adding that the country is also engaged in overseas farming of barley, oil seeds, and soybean in Kazakhstan and also in smaller projects in Belarus and Russia.
