Saudi Arabia is advancing its efforts to decarbonise the aviation sector through cutting-edge fuel technologies. Mohammad Altayyar, Mohammad Altayyar, programme director of the Saudi Ministry of Energy’s oil sustainability programme, emphasised the Kingdom’s commitment to global climate goals and sustainable energy practices.

Arab News, Altayyar underscored the critical role of aviation in global emissions, contributing approximately 2 per cent. He stated that the Kingdom is actively leveraging innovative solutions to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions while meeting the growing demand for sustainable air travel.
Altayyar noted that the Kingdom is pioneering efforts in the aviation sector, showcasing its dedication to energy innovation and climate stewardship. These initiatives not only contribute to global climate objectives but also reinforce Saudi Arabia’s leadership in clean energy technologies.
At COP29, the Saudi Ministry of Energy signed an executive programme for renewable energy cooperation with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. This partnership aims to enhance regional power grid interconnections and integrate renewable energy projects into national grids.
