Indonesia launches programme to promote tourism with Iran
The Indonesian government, in cooperation with the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, has launched a programme called “Familiarisation Trip” (“Famtrip”). The initiative aims to strengthen tourism ties and promote Indonesia’s iconic destinations.
The programme invited nine Iranian travel agents and operators to travel to Lombok and Bali. This is reported by
Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
The objectives of this initiative are threefold: first, to introduce key industry representatives to these areas, especially Lombok, which is less well-known in the Iranian market compared to Bali; second, to provide interaction between Iranian agents and local participants through networking events; and third, to identify the potential for development and major obstacles in tourism between the two countries.
Famtrip is in line with the MoU between Indonesia and Iran on culture exchange programs for 2023-2025.
Through this programme, the Embassy and the Ministry of Tourism hope to significantly increase the number of tourists from Iran in the coming years.
