India to hold International conference on Russian language and culture
The event aims to assist young researchers in exploring Russia’s artistic heritage
The conference “Russian Language, Literature, Translation, and Culture in the 21st Century: Reassessment and Perspectives” will take place in New Delhi 24–25 January 2025. The TV BRICS International Media Network serves as the international information partner for this event.
This gathering is expected to provide a platform for young scholars engaged in Russian language and literature.
The organisers highlight the unique position of Russian culture and its peoples in the world. The Russian language and literature act as a vital link between the country’s history, artistic heritage, and contemporary society. Translators, in turn, play a crucial role in developing these connections, conveying the diversity of national identity, and maintaining dialogue between nations.
The agenda will cover a wide range of topics related to various aspects of Russian literature, history, and art. Discussions will also address issues of intercultural and civilisational dialogue between Russia and India. Some sessions will focus on aspects of the translators’ work, including opportunities for the application of information technologies.
The event will be conducted in a hybrid format, with the working languages being Russian, Hindi, and English. Registration for participants is open until October 22, 2024.
The meeting is organised with the participation of the Russian World and Indo-Russian Research foundations, the Union of Russian Translators of India, in collaboration with the Russian Embassy and the Russian House in New Delhi, Sahitya Akademi, Moscow State Linguistic University, and the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.
