The study highlighted the advancements in the adoption of information and communication technologies

Approximately 17 per cent of doctors in Brazil are now incorporating generative artificial intelligence (AI) into their practices, according to research published by the Regional Centre for Studies on the Development of the Information Society, acting under the auspices of UNESCO.

The study highlighted the significant advancements in the adoption of information and communication technologies (ICT) within healthcare facilities across the country in recent years. The report also points out the number of professionals who have undergone specific training to manage the demands of digital transformation. This is reported by
TV Cultura, a partner of TV BRICS.

The study shows that only 23 par cent of doctors had undertaken any form of training or professional development in health informatics during the 12 months prior to the survey. The same figure was observed among nurses.

The report emphasised that with the continued development of digital healthcare in the country, it is crucial that healthcare professionals receive specialised training to ensure the proper use of digital technologies.
