New agreement sees Tshwane pool resources in crime fight

Newly-elected Tshwane Executive Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya says her administration is committed to the fight against crime in the area.

This after representatives of the Gauteng government and the National Police Ministry signed an agreement of co-operation.

They pledged to jointly fight crime in the city.

Moya explains the importance of the agreement, “This agreement, what it means is that between the three spheres of government, we will be integrating and sharing our resources, whether in the form of the human resources, the officers that we deploy or the vehicles or the tools of trade. So, there are things that we’ve always identified that when it comes to the problem that we have as the country, which is crime and it affects all of us but the way we approach crime has always been fragmented. And what is quite important now is that once this trespass works together, will be able to pool our resources. So, this agreement was very significant.”
