Leaders of China and Russia exchange congratulations on 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations
Xi Jinping expressed readiness, alongside Vladimir Putin, to continue expanding cooperation between the two countries
Strong neighbourly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation are the key characteristics of China-Russia relations. This was highlighted in a congratulatory telegram from the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, addressed to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Chinese leader noted that over this period, both nations have consistently raised the level of bilateral relations, relying on the interests of their peoples and historical experience, as reports
CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS.
Furthermore, Xi Jinping expressed his willingness to continue working on expanding comprehensive cooperation, supporting the rapid development of both countries, and building a “community of shared future for mankind” together with the Russian head of state.
Putin also sent his congratulations to the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China on the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The President noted that the close, mutually beneficial ties between Moscow and Beijing have stood the test of time with honour. His words were conveyed in a message published on the Kremlin’s official
website.
“I am confident that fulfilling the bilateral agreements resulting from our latest meetings will contribute to further strengthening the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation between Russia and the PRC, as well as ensure stability and security on the Eurasian continent and across the world”

He also wished Xi Jinping good health and success and prosperity and well-being for the people of China.
The day before, the people of China celebrated the 75th anniversary of its founding. Three-quarters of a century ago, on October 1, 1949, the first five-star red flag was raised in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, symbolising the rebirth of the ancient state. A day later, on October 2, the Soviet Union became the first country to establish diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China.
