Innovative International Film Festival to take place in India

The TV BRICS International Media Network will present several films by BRICS+ countries directors

From 4 to 7 October, the 7th Innovative International Film Festival (IIFF) will be held in Bangalore, India.

The event’s programme will include over 100 films. Participants represent 23 countries, including Brazil, India, Iran, China, the UAE, Russia, and South Africa. Honoured guests of the festival will include Indian film stars, government officials, and diplomats.

This year, visitors will be able to see the TV BRICS project “The Golden Coast of the Arctic” (directed by Andrey Porshnyak, written by Ksenia Komissarova), which made the shortlist for the “MineMovie-2024” short documentary films about the mining industry in the “Best Film about Innovations” category.

In addition, the media network will present films by directors from BRICS+ countries. The programme includes the Iranian film “Noqte“, the Brazilian film “Pena and Maraca”, “Oh, Casey” from South Africa, and several works by Argentine authors: “Che Guevara’s Path”, “The Trombonists”, “My Brother Joaquin”, and “Sara Facio: having been there.”

Apart from film screenings, the festival will feature masterclasses, round tables, and meetings with filmmakers. Panel discussions will also take place, where representatives from the media community, cinema, relevant educational institutions, and government agencies will discuss current trends in the development of creative industries. Aleksandra Burman, Head of TV BRICS South Asia and Middle East Department, will speak at the event.

The dialogue will focus, among other things, on education in journalism and film, as well as the impact of innovation on the filmmaking process. The discussion will cover the role of information technology, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.

Participants will also address issues of international cultural cooperation, joint film production, and organising filming in India and other countries.

A separate element of the programme will be a showcase of costumes and accessories.

The Innovative International Film Festival in Bangalore has been held since 2018. The TV BRICS media network is the media partner of the event for the sixth time.
