At the invitation of HE President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China, HE President Cyril Ramaphosa of the Republic of South Africa paid his 2nd State Visit to China from 2 – 4 September 2024.
应中华人民共和国主席习近平邀请，南非共和国总统西里尔·拉马福萨于2024年9月2日至4日对中国进行了第二次国事访问。
During the State Visit, the two heads of state had an in-depth exchange of views on further developing China-South Africa and China-Africa relations, including regional and global issues of mutual interest. To carry forward the friendship, consolidate mutual trust, expand cooperation and enhance coordination, the two Heads of State agreed to elevate the bilateral relationship to an all-round strategic cooperative partnership in the new era, underpinned by strong political ties and focused on a prosperous future with balanced trade, and accelerated transformative economic growth.
在国事访问期间，两国元首就进一步发展中南和中非关系，以及双方共同关心的地区和全球问题深入交换了意见。同时，为弘扬友谊、巩固互信、扩大合作、加强协调，两国元首一致同意将两国关系提升为新时代全方位战略合作伙伴关系，以牢固的政治关系为基础，着眼于贸易平衡的繁荣未来，加快经济转型增长。
The two Presidents jointly witnessed the signing of several bilateral cooperation instruments in the areas of science and innovation, human settlements, trade cooperation, cultural heritage, agricultural cooperation, etc.
两国总统共同见证了科技创新、人居建设、贸易合作、文化遗产、农业合作等领域多项双边合作文书的签署。
As part of the State Visit programme of events, the South Africa – China Presidential Business Forum was held on 04 September 2024 in Beijing. The event was the seminal business engagement by President Ramaphosa during his visit to Beijing.
作为国事访问活动的一部分，中国—南非经贸论坛于2024年9月4日在北京举行。此次活动是拉马福萨总统访问北京期间进行的具有开创性的商业活动。
The Forum was hosted by the Department of Trade Industry and Competition of South Africa and co-organised by the China – Africa Development Fund. Over 200 South African businesspeople and 100 Chinese businesspeople attended.
论坛由南非贸易、工业和竞争部主办，中非发展基金协办，分别有200多名南非商业人士和100多名中国商业人士出席了论坛。
The Forum followed President Ramaphosa’s successful visit to Shenzhen on 3 September to meet the senior leadership of Shenzhen enterprises.

While in China, President Ramaphosa joined other 52 African Heads of State and Government to attend the 2024 FOCAC Summit on 5 September. In the same afternoon, President Ramaphosa co – chaired the High-Level Parallel Seminar on Industrialisation, Agricultural Modernisation and Green Development.

In preparing for President Cyril Ramaphosa’s State Visit, the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Mr Ronald Lamola paid an official visit to the People’s Republic of China from 31 August – 7 September 2024.
为了准备拉马福萨总统的此次国事访问，南非国际关系与合作部长罗纳德·拉莫拉先生于2024年8月31日至9月7日对中华人民共和国进行了正式访问。
On 1 September 2024, Minister Lamola had the bilateral talks with his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Mr Wang Yi at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse where the two Ministers exchanged views on bilateral relations, Global South, etc. Minister Lamola also attended the 9th FOCAC Ministerial Conference which was held on 3 September 2024 in Beijing in preparation of the FOCAC Summit.
