Ethiopia launches national health forum

The forum was held in Addis Ababa

Ethiopia’s Minister of Health, Mekdes Daba, has emphasised the government’s commitment to creating a high quality and accessible healthcare environment for the country’s adolescents and young workers. The statement was made during the opening of a three-day national health forum aimed at addressing health issues affecting young people.

In her opening remarks, Minister Daba emphasised that the forum will focus on improving accessibility and quality of health care for adolescents and youth.

The Ministry’s mission is to create a healthy and productive youth demographic by creating an appropriate health care environment across the country. This is reported by

To achieve these goals, the government has developed strategies that involve collaboration with various stakeholders, including youth and the general public.

The Ministry is implementing initiatives in universities, industrial parks and youth centres to promote the overall health and well-being of this population, in partnership with continental and international organisations.
