Saudi Arabia-Uruguay partnership strengthens bilateral co-operation

The newly established joint committee between Saudi Arabia and Uruguay held its first meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo

The meeting was chaired by Saudi Arabia’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Ahmed Al-Khamshi, and on the Uruguayan side, Uruguay’s Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Nicolas Albertoni.

The meeting was also attended by Uruguay’s The Uruguayan Vice Minister of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries, Juan Ignacio Buffa and Saudi Ambassador to Uruguay Eyad bin Ghazi Hakim.

On the sidelines of the conference, a memorandum of understanding was signed to establish a joint business council between the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the Uruguayan Exporters Association. This is reported by
Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Diplomatic relations between the countries began in 1974.
