Egypt attempts to obtain international accreditation as malaria-free nation

The Egyptian Ministry of Health made this announcement

In order to get ready to be certified as a malaria-free nation internationally, Egyptian Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar recently met with a delegation from the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Global Malaria Control Programme. This is reported by
Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

To support the WHO mission, the Egyptian Ministry of Health assembled a working group of professionals in the field of prevention. To research procedures and preventive measures, they made visits to hospitals and other health institutions in the governorates of Aswan, Cairo, and Fayoum. The goal of these initiatives is to stop malaria from returning to the nation.

The expedition examined environmental cleanliness techniques and gave special emphasis to mosquito vector control procedures.
