Ethiopia launches initiatives to combat forest loss and climate change

According to Ethiopian Forestry Development Director-General Kebede Yimam, the country’s government is attempting to repair landscapes through a number of programmes to counteract deforestation, forest degradation, and climate change. This is reported by

One of the main goals, according to International Water Management Institute (IWMI) Principal Researcher Amare Haile Selassie, is to spread the knowledge of research results on climate-smart and landscape agriculture.
The source claims that in the Bale zone and other areas alone, deforestation in Ethiopia has decreased by more than 59 per cent.
Additionally, the nation started a solar pump irrigation programme, which has been operational since 2016.
