Tourism in the Western Cape continues to grow, with the number of visitors to attractions surpassing the 3.2 million mark. 

According to the latest Western Cape Tourism Industry Report, 53 attractions across six regions were visited by more than 3.2 million tourists between January and April 2024. This is a 17 per cent increase from the previous year. Provincial Minister of Finance and Economic Opportunity Mireille Wenger emphasised that these results are a boost to development and job creation in the region.

The report also highlighted five popular attractions, with Table Mountain National Park, Mountain Aerial Cableway to the highest mountain in the province and other natural attractions leading the way. This is reported by the official

Cape Town International Airport has also recorded an increase in tourist arrivals, indicating continued interest in the province from international visitors. Various tourism and infrastructure development programmes implemented with partners are aimed at sustaining this positive momentum and creating a favourable economic climate in the Western Cape.
