India exports pineapples of the highest quality by sea to the UAE

This was a significant step forward in the development of fresh fruit exports from India

The first shipment of brand-new, premium pineapples to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was made possible by the Indian Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). The 8.7 metric tonnes (650 boxes) of MD 2 pineapples in the batch were shipped. This is reported by
IANS, a partner of TV BRICS.

In pineapple cultivation, the MD2 variety, which is also referred to as “Golden Ripe” or “Super Sweet”, has emerged as the gold standard.

This type is grown on 200 acres of land by local Indian farmers working together to ensure the best possible quality and output.

According to official UAE import figures, India was the UAE’s second-largest trading partner in 2021, with goods exported to the UAE valued at US$10.4 billion. The main goods that India exports to the UAE are precious stones and jewellery, precious metals and stone stones, minerals, and petroleum products.

Expert predictions state that exporting fresh fruits could solidify India’s leadership in the UAE market as the country’s primary exporter.
