TV BRICS International Media Network and Hero League join forces to develop mass sports in Russia and BRICS countries

The TV BRICS International Media Network will act as an international media partner of the “Hero League” project (Autonomous NPO “Physical Culture and Sports Center ‘Hero Race'”). The relevant agreement was signed on the margins of the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TV BRICS, and Ksenia Shoigu, Head of the Hero League.

The cooperation between the partners is aimed at developing and popularising mass sports in Russia and other BRICS+ countries, promoting modern formats of amateur sports events on the international arena, in particular, the ONE RUN half marathon.

The Hero League project was established in 2015 and today is the largest organiser of mass sports events in Russia. The most famous projects of the team are the All-Russian half marathon with synchronised start “ZaBeg.RF”, mass obstacle race “Hero Race,” cycling race La Strada and others.

“The year of Russia’s chairmanship in BRICS has already become significant for us. The geography of the ‘ZaBeg.RF’ project, known abroad as ‘ONE RUN’, has expanded as never before. In 2024, it took place in all regions of Russia and in 15 other countries, including Brazil, China, UAE and Egypt. This is unprecedented for a running event. We want to expand further and bring other projects to the world stage, which will certainly be facilitated by the signing of a co-operation agreement with TV BRICS. The trend of mass sports development is not only characteristic of Russia, we see the interest of Asian countries, the Islamic world, and Latin America. Sport not only unites people, but also makes them healthy, raises their spirits and allows building strong relationships”

Ivan Polyakov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the TV BRICS International Media Network, noted the relevance of the development of humanitarian ties in the BRICS countries and the prospect of joint interstate activities in the fields of culture, education and sports. For example, in the year of Russia’s presidency in the association, the media network will support a number of key events in the field of physical culture and sports and will act as an international media partner of the BRICS Sports Games in Kazan, BRICS SKATE CUP BY Grand Skate Tour in Nizhny Novgorod, and the XII International Forum “Russia – a Sports Power”. For this purpose, TV BRICS will use a wide range of its own information resources, working in the languages of the group’s countries, and the capabilities of its partners, which include more than 70 of the world’s largest media holdings, including those in Brazil, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Iran, UAE, Argentina, Armenia, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mozambique and Tunisia.
