UAE develops projects to facilitate users with disabilities and elderly
More than 100 programmers participated in the event
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) in partnership with Abu Dhabi Schools organised the hackathon, which attracted more than 100 programmers from 32 countries. This is reported by
Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.
The event aimed to improve the functions of the MoI’s app, develop innovative digital solutions to facilitate access to services and introduce new smart services to improve customer satisfaction.
The event provided an opportunity for students to present innovative ideas for new features that make it easier for disabled and elderly users. This reflects MoI commitment to digital innovation and allows programmers to contribute to the UAE’s national digital transformation efforts.
At the end of the three-day event, the winners were awarded. The first team received AED 20,000 ($5,445), the second team received AED 15,000 ($4,083) and the third team received AED 10,000 ($2,722).
The winners submitted projects that utilised advanced technologies in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data preparation, computer vision, natural language processing and blockchain technology.
