Egypt considers merging ministries of oil, electricity and renewable energy sources
This was announced by Mohamed Fouad, Secretary General of the Egyptian Gas Association
He said at the “Invest in African Energy” forum in that such a move would help make communication with international companies more effective.
The move is related to Egypt’s increased investment in renewable energy sources, including nuclear energy, in search of a balance between hydrocarbons and renewable energy. Indeed, as Fouad noted, creating such a balance is important for the country and the entire region. This is reported by
Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
The trend towards integrated energy strategies is also evident in other North African countries. Morocco, for example, while emphasising gas as the basis of energy supply, is also actively investing in infrastructure development. Thus, with hydrocarbons as the base load, the development of new technologies in the future becomes more sustainable.
In supporting energy projects, Egypt and Morocco realise that infrastructure is key. Reliable and efficient infrastructure becomes a valuable asset for the development of the energy sector.
