Egypt celebrates International Museum Day
Museum admission is free for all guests
Egyptian Minister of Culture Nevine El-Kilany announced free admission to all national and art museums affiliated with the Ministry of Culture for several days as part of the celebration of International Museum Day on May 18. This was reported by
Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the source, the opening of museums for free on this occasion reflects the Ministry of Culture’s belief in the crucial role that museums play in raising cultural and artistic awareness, showcasing our artistic treasures, and encouraging interaction between different sectors of society.
All citizens and residents of Egypt were welcome to attend events, see museums, and learn about the country’s rich cultural and historical legacy.
The museums offer a wide range of programming, such as talks, tours, and art exhibits.
Museums across Egypt, from the Al-Sirah Al-Hilaliyyah (Hilali Epic) Museum in Qena Governorate to the Taha Hussein Museum in Cairo, will also participate in the celebration with special programmes and free admission.
