India to sign 10-year Chabahar port management agreement with Iran

This is the first time India will take over the management of a foreign port

India to enter into an agreement with Iran to manage Chabahar port This event is a major geopolitical milestone in the development of co-operation with Iran, which will have significant implications for the region.

According to experts, Chabahar is a key connecting port between India and Afghanistan, Central Asia and the greater Eurasian space.

In the future, there are plans to link Chabahar with the North-South International Transport Corridor, which will connect India to Russia via Iran. This is reported by
ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.

This trade route is designed to transport goods from India and the Gulf States to Western and Northern Europe through the territories of Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia, including by connecting the railways of these three countries. The main advantage of the corridor is the reduction of delivery time by two or three times.
