Saudi Arabia hosts Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2024
The Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) conference was held in Riyadh, where sustainable development through energy transition takes center stage

Throughout the conference, Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud, stressed the urgent need for the country to transition to alternative energy sources due to the expected decrease in global oil and gasoline supply as well as the diminishing use of fossil fuels.
He highlighted the significant partnership between Saudi Arabia and China in energy transition initiatives, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s dedication to enhancing cooperation with China for global development.
The one-day conference gathered over 180 dignitaries, scientists, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from Saudi Arabia, China, and various other countries to engage in discussions on the energy transition and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.
The minister reiterated the importance of China as a key partner for Saudi Arabia in advancing its energy transition agenda, emphasising the successful collaboration between the two countries in the energy sector. He once again expressed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening ties with China to promote global progress.
The conference brought together more than 180 officials, scientists, business leaders, and industry experts from Saudi Arabia, China, and other nations to address issues related to energy transition and carbon dioxide emission reduction.
