300 objects with high historical value are found in Iran

They were found in Delphan city, Lorestan province

Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Lorestan Province has officially announced the discovery of 300 ancient objects in the city of Delphan.

Ata Hassanpour from the public relations department of Lorestan province’s cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts agency said that after scrutinising the items, they were evaluated for age and value.

Giving details of the results, he said expert consultants had conducted a thorough examination of the items and determined that 167 out of 300 had significant cultural and historical authenticity. This is reported by
Tehran Times.

Lorestan, a region of extraordinary beauty, was inhabited by Iranian Indo-European peoples, including the Medes, around 1000 BC. Cimmerians and Scythians periodically ruled the region from about 700 to 625 BC.

Lorestan became part of the growing Achaemenid Empire around 540 BC and was successively part of the Seleucid, Parthian and Sassanid dynasties.
