Сhina to build modern football stadium in Tanzania

It will be built in time for the 2027 African Cup of Nations

An organisation from China and Tanzania’s Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports have entered into an agreement to build a football stadium in the northern Tanzanian city of Arusha to host the African Cup of Nations final in 2027.

Once completed, the stadium will be used not only for football matches but also for commercial events and official government ceremonies.

The stadium will attract regular visitors and boost tourism in Arusha, known as the safari capital of the world. This is reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The stadium will cover an area of 14,57 hectares and will have a capacity of 30,000 people, meeting the standards of the African Football Confederation and FIFA. The stadium’s design will be inspired by the mineral tanzanite and Mount Kilimanjaro, while its colours will be based on the Tanzanian flag.

The African Cup of Nations in 2027 will be jointly organised by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
